Recommendations

To make the 8 Day Peru Tours, you should consider the following:

  • Book the 8 Day Peru tours months in advance, especially if you plan to travel between May and September which is high season, therefore, Machu Picchu and Train tickets tend to sell out quickly. Especially if you plan to climb to the Huayna Picchu mountain top.
  • Make sure your international flight arrives at Lima’s Jorge Chavez airport before noon and your local flight from Lima to Cusco’s Velasco Astete airport before 11 am. This is to be in time to do the Lima and Cusco City tours.
  • Let us know if you have any mishaps or delays upon arrival in Lima or Cusco.
  • Before and upon arrival in Cusco, take pills for altitude sickness (soroche). In your hotel in Cusco also drink the coca leaves infusion, it will help you acclimatize better and not feel much annoying headache, dizziness and vomiting.
  • In Cusco and Puno, in the morning and at night, use warm clothes. Especially on the Rainbow Mountain hike.
  • To travel by train to Machu Picchu, leave your heavy suitcases in the luggage room of your hotel in Cusco. The train company only allows you to travel with personal luggage. If you wish to travel with your heavy luggage, you will have to pay a supplement to the train company and go through a long process to send it by freight train.
