did a full day machu pichhu tour. even though i had to ask for the tickets the night before the tour, everything was great. very helpful when booking, didnt take too much time to respond, and had great and wonderful people to give us instructions.

My brother and I took the private tour of the Sacred Valley with Machupicchu Andes Tours and it was, without a doubt, one of the best days of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized: they were punctual, the transportation was very comfortable, and the itinerary allowed us to enjoy each destination calmly and without rushing.
A very special thank you to our guide, Nelson, who made the experience truly memorable. His explanations were clear, interesting, and full of historical and cultural facts that helped us understand the greatness of the Inca Empire much better. In addition to being an excellent professional, he was always kind, attentive, and willing to answer all our questions with a great attitude.
We visited incredible places like Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and Chinchero, and thanks to Nelson we were able to appreciate much more of the history, architecture, and traditions of each site. It is clear that he enjoys his work and transmits that passion to the whole group.
I recommend Machupicchu Andes Tours 100% for their excellent service and professionalism. If you have the opportunity to do the tour with Nelson as a guide, do not hesitate: he will make your visit to the Sacred Valley even more special. Five well-deserved stars!

My group of four ladies embarked on an incredible journey to Lima, Cusco, Rainbow Mountain, and the Sacred Valley. Our tour planner, Lylia, was an absolute gem. She was incredibly helpful and flexible, ensuring that our itinerary was tailored to our preferences and health needs. I was truly impressed by her patience and attentiveness throughout the trip. She consistently texted us daily, providing us with valuable information and guidance for the next day. I highly recommend this company. While the trip can be challenging, with early mornings in the cold weather, it is undoubtedly worth it. It offers a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

I had an amazing full-day private tour of Cusco and the surrounding sites with Coco and our driver Nelson, and I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Coco is incredibly knowledgeable—it honestly felt like I was touring with a true expert. He didn’t just point things out; he gave me a deep, meaningful understanding of the culture, history, and significance behind everything we saw. It made the entire experience so much richer and more memorable.

Because it was a private tour, I was able to customize the day exactly how I wanted, which made such a difference—especially since I was traveling solo. Coco made sure I never felt rushed and helped shape the day around what I was most interested in. He also took great photos for me along the way, which I really appreciated since I didn’t have anyone else to capture those moments.

And Nelson was fantastic as well. He was always right there when we needed him, and at one point even took some of my purchases back to the hotel for me while we continued exploring the city on foot. That level of thoughtfulness and service really stood out.

This was such a smooth, personalized, and memorable experience. If you’re visiting Cusco, you would be lucky to spend the day with Coco and Nelson.

This was a bucket list trip. AB Expeditions make it perfect. Edwin Monzon was a spectacular Guide. We got picked up from our hotel at 5 am. We caught the trail at Ollantaytambo to KM 104. Due to the rainy season, the trail went up the “porter” switchbacks. This made the initial accent challenging. Edwin was extremely patient with the speed of the accent and the lunch at the top was incredible. After lunch, we hiked to the Inka Sun Gate and got a first view of Machu Picchu. This was truly breathtaking. From there, we hiked down to Circuit 1A and the classic picture. After exiting Circuit 1, we also completed Circuit 3. This gave us an incredible tour of the lower part of Machu Picchu. Edwin provided an amazing background on this incredible site. After completing the tour of Machu Picchu, we took the bus down to Aguas Calientes. We had dinner at Mistura which was awesome after 12 km hike with over 2500 ft of elevation gain. Finally, we caught the train back to Ollantaytambo where a driver met us and took us back to our hotel. It was a long day (5 am to 10 pm), but it was truly an epic experience!!!

My friends and I contacted Machupicchu Andes Tours for a guided tour of the city of Cusco. Lylia organized our excursion and we had a wonderful experience with a very friendly and professional tour guide who transported us back to the past. A 100% recommended travel agency!

Guido was an awesome tour guide! He was interactive and educational and let us set the pace and tone of the tour. He also took awesome photos of us (he studied photography!) which was an added bonus to being a great hike leader and educator on Machu Picchu and Incan history. We did the one day Incan trail from 104 km and it took about 6 hours including lunch – highly recommend!

Guido is the most incredible tour guide and gave us the most unbelievable experiencing hiking Machu Picchu. He was extremely informative, and his love for this sacred space was infectious and inspiring. He set the perfect pace for us, carved out quiet spaces for us to stop and learn about what we were seeing, answered all our questions, and took great photos for us:)! Truly couldn’t imagine a more professional, wonderful person to guide us through this amazing place.

Overall, this entire experience was completely seamless and every detail was thought through intentionally. Communication was clear and helpful, and we couldn’t have had more of a positive experience. The price was also completely reasonable once you see everything that goes into planning the full day (logistics, tickets, guide, etc). The hike itself is not super challenging but it’s a long day and is best for people who are physically fit.

It was a really great trip. I would recommend 100%. I would however recommend a future traveler to plan additional time to enjoy the wonderful flavors that Peruvian cuisine offers. The tour is optimized to make you visit as much as possible, so no time to sit down, eat and relax. Take an extra day or 2 in Cusco or Lima.

But tour operator is really reactive, in constant contact with you on Whatsapp, make sure you have a valid SIM card with data on arrival.

We did the 4 day/3 night tour. Outstanding tour. Ronaldo was our tour guide and made our experience fantastic! He and the porter crew are patient, accomodating, knowledgeable. My family and I highly recommend this outfit and especially Ronaldo as a guide. Looking forward to trying a longer trek.

I was a little hesitant booking this because I wasn’t sure it was a real tour company. After checking a few sites and with a tour guide, I felt better about sending the money. The interactions I had with the company via WhatsApp was handled quickly and politely.
When the day came for the trip, we were picked up in a private vehicle on time and driven to the train station. We were quite early but the Hiram Bingham employees were very attentive with champagne, coffee or tea. There is a fun interactive performance before you are escorted on to the train and also lots of time for photos.
The train ride itself was wonderful. The band was great and played all kinds of music. The drinks and appetizers were delicious as was the main meal. They will change anything on the menu for you. The staff and service was impeccable. Once in Aguas Calientes we were never without a guide. No line ups for the bus to Machu Picchu as we were on a private bus. No charge for the toilets as its all covered. Circuit 1 and 2 at Machu Picchu were great. When we were finished the circuit we went into The Sanctuary Lodge hotel at Machu Picchu entrance for afternoon tea. It truly was lovely. After a nice rest we boarded the private bus back down to the train station, headed into the private VIP lounge and waited for the train. The return trip was just as good as the first leg. We were again, taken by private transfer back to our hotel. The day was flawless. We were so glad to have found Machu Picchu Andes Tours. This day was the highlight of our Peru trip.

The activity is great. Personally, the Inca trail to Macu Picchu is a MUST that you must do! And if you do it with the guide Jose Antonio, much better! He is an excellent guide who is worrying about you at all times, making sure you are enjoying it, that you take the best photos home, explaining the Quechua culture in detail to immerse you in a wonderful world.

We were originally booked to complete the 5 day Inca trail, however due to extremely bad altitude sickness we asked AB Expeditions if they could come up with options that would allow us to complete a short hike and still arrive and visit Machu Picchu. We were very impressed with AB,s ability to come up with a new program that fulfilled our wishes.
Our guide Geo, was fantastic and his knowledge of the trail, its history, wildlife and fauna was outstanding.
Unfortunately whilst we were there the local population and tour operators were taking industrial actions which shut down the rail link into and out of Aquas Calientes, and they also stopped the buses from taking tourists up to Machu Picchu which meant that a large number of tourists were stranded. AB expeditions were great at coming up with an alternate plan to get all AB expeditions’ clients out of Aquas Calientes and back to Cusco.
Overall we were very impressed with AB Expeditions as a company and all of their staff were top rate.

Before we were in Peru, they had already contacted our group to verify everything and have everything ready. Transportation was from the hotel to the train station. From arriving at the station, the attention of all the staff was a movie experience! Being my second time to Machu Picchu, this experience is truly a luxury. From the service, the attention, THE FOOD, the music and all the drinks possible! We loved it . Everyone should do this great at least once in their life!!

We did the one day trek to Machu Picchu from km 104 on the railway up to the Sun gate and then down into Machu Picchu. It’s a great way to experience part of the Inka trail without having to camp. The trail up from the railway is quite arduous but has a couple of Inka ruins on the way. We arrived at the Sun gate around 1.30pm then into Machu Picchu by 2pm. We then spent a couple of hours visiting the ruins before taking the bus down to Aguas Caliente. Our guide was Jose Antonio who was fantastic and provided useful information all the way through the trek and tour. If we did the trek again we would book an earlier train back to our hotel rather than have dinner in Aquas Caliente which is a bit of a tourist trap. Otherwise it was a perfect day which combines a fantastic trek with a visit to Machu Picchu- which absolutely deserves its reputation.

Machu Pichu Andes Tours made our trip to Machu Pichu an outstanding experience. We had initially booked this tour back in 2019 just before covid restrictions shut down all possibility of traveling. The tour company put our reservation on hold without any additional fee for over 3 years until this year when we were finally able to make it to Peru.

Once we gave them our updated travel itinerary they went to work making sure that all phases of the tour including pick up, train/bus tickets, entrance tickets to Machu Pichu, and a bilingual tour guide were ready and waiting for us. They even accommodated a last minute change to our pick up location since we had to switch hotels.

I was very nervous about making the tour because there were a lot of steps involved in the whole journey from pick up to train ride to bus, however the tour company was readily available via whatsapp to answer all my questions and put my mind at ease. They even sent a representative to our hotel the night before so we could pay the remaining balance of our tour and provide us with an extremely detailed explanation of every step of the tour with a map, and to make sure we had digital copies of every ticket we needed for the tour.

The day of the tour went very smoothly because we were so prepared thanks to the tour company’s hard work leading up to it. Once we arrived via train to Machu Pichu we were met with a sign with our name on it by a very nice lady who showed us exactly where to go and to introduce us to our tour guide. My wife and I were very fortunate to be the only two people with this particular tour guide which was a nice added bonus.

Our tour guide was fantastic. He was incredibly informative and knowledgeable. Machu Pichu is an incredible wonder of the world so naturally we wanted to know everything we could about it. Our tour guide was genuinely passionate about telling us about the history and culture of the Inca people and Machu Pichu.

The actual hike is truly magical and I would make sure you do at least the 2 days if not more. Only hikers get to see the most magical part at the Sun Gate. I went with my friends and they crushed it. The hike is not difficult if you are prepared. The operating company and the tour are highly recommended, it really is a life-changing experience.

Tome el tour a Machu Picchu de 1 dia. El tour comenzo y termino en la puerta de mi hospedaje, ellos se encargaron de absolutamente todo. Lylia es extraordinariamente amable y se encarga de toda la experiencia.
El tour incluyo: Traslado a la estacion del tren, boletos del bus a la estacion del tren en otro poblado, boleto de tren a Aguascalientes (poblacion donde estan las ruinas), bus que te lleva a las ruinas, el ingreso a las ruinas, guia turistico, bus de regreso a aguascalientes, boleto de tren, boleto de bus a cuzco y recepcion para llevarte a tu hospedaje.

SUEÑO CUMPLIDO!!!
Después de algunas contingencias al fin llegamos a Machu Picchu!!! Caminar por las ruinas de mítica ciudad que formó parte de la civilización más importante y avanzada de la América Pre-hispana cubiertos por una lluvia tenue y persistente… Momento Mágico….Inti nos bendijo con el esplendor de sus rayos y la lluvia cesó…Las montañas emergieron de la niebla para regocijo de nuestros ojos…y de nuestra alma!!!

Lylia y Nelson Dos personas muy amables y súper pendientes de nosotros, nos ofrecieron un plan muy completo para conocer algunos de los mejores lugares de Peru, con hospedaje y transporte muy cómodo, cumplidos y con excelentes relaciones con los guías, muchas gracias y esperamos volver, los recomendamos 100%

You need to take a train from Cusco to get to the spot where the busses are to take you to the top, it’s the only way to get there. The bus ride is very scary as they are driving on the side of a mountain with very little room for error. The walk up can be exausting due to the altitude so in order to get use to the thin air stay in Cusco for a day or two before going up. Also, you have to book your tickets in advance as they only let a certain number of visitors a day and only during specific times of the year. There are a lot of little black bugs that bit and are very annoying and itchy so bring bug spray.

Disclaimer: I am absolutely not the targeted demography for this tour. What follows is a eurocentric opinion.

I’ve made the experience that Spanish-speaking tours in South America are like this one: a guide reproducing solid information akin to listening to a radio while getting walked through the places of interest. Most tourists will touch everything, ask questions whose answers have already been given and take a ton of pictures, mostly of themselves. If this is your jam, read no further, this is a tour tailored for you.

Let me stress Spanish-speaking, since English-speaking tours often differ quite a bit (but are often larger in group sizes and are slowed down by frail, older generations).

What you don’t get here: a guide that interacts with you, atunes to the group and individuals’ dynamics, creates a genuine room for questions and conversations, offers information that is more layered than what you can read online, look through the curtain of well-polished criollo narratives.

What you won’t get either is a critical view on the horrors of colonization. It’s worse – there is a subtle but constant glorification of the cultural genocide committed by the Catholic Church. It’s heart-breaking how normalized it is even for people with indigenous ancestry like our guide to endorse centuries of systematic uprooting and religious gaslighting.

I booked a 2-day tour package for Machu Picchu (Day 1) and Rainbow Mountain (Day 2), and the entire experience was chaotic, disorganized, and at times genuinely concerning.

Day 1 (Machu Picchu). Lylia was our main point of contact on WhatsApp and the person coordinating everything from the start. We were told we would be picked up directly from our Airbnb between 3:00–3:30 AM. The night prior, I confirmed the pickup time and exact location with Lylia, and she reassured me everything was set.

The next morning at 3:30, after not seeing anyone, I messages Lylia and told her no one was there. We then received a call from someone named Lisbeth, who did not speak English, telling us to go to Plaza de Armas. We immediately started walking there (about 10 minutes away), only to then be told by Lylia to hurry and go to a different location, Plaza Regocijo.

When we arrived at Plaza de Armas, no one was there and Lisbeth stopped responding. Lylia then gave us another contact, Marina, who also did not answer, followed by a third contact, Jorge.

When we finally reached Jorge, we got into his car and drove for about 5 minutes before he suddenly stopped in the middle of a street. He got out, and we were immediately surrounded by about 15 men all telling us to get into a different car. I repeatedly asked who they were, but no one could provide any clear explanation or verification. The men just kept insisting we get into the car.

I tried calling Lylia to confirm whether this was legitimate, but she does not speak English, so we had no way to verify what was happening. At that point, we did not feel safe getting into the vehicle. We left the situation and called an Uber ourselves. Thankfully, we made the 1.5-hour drive to the train station and arrived with about 10 minutes to spare.

At no point were we informed ahead of time who would be picking us up, what vehicle to expect, or that we would be transferred between multiple drivers before reaching the bus. That is basic information that should always be communicated. Being shuffled around in a foreign country, in unmarked vehicles, with no clear coordination is extremely unsettling.

As two women in an unfamiliar place who do not speak the language, being surrounded by a group of men yelling at us to get into a car in the middle of the street without any verification was honestly terrifying.

After this, I asked Lylia to refund the cost of the Uber that we had to book due to their failure to safely and clearly coordinate transportation. She said she would, to which I am hopeful she will follow through on.

After this experience, I again confirmed with Lylia that Day 2 (Rainbow Mountain) pickup would be directly from our Airbnb. She confirmed, and I even sent a Google Maps screenshot of the exact location. She told us pickup would be between 3:50–4:00 AM.

At 3:30 AM the next morning, I received a message from someone named Brian asking for our address, which I immediately sent again, despite having already provided it multiple times. By 4:15 AM, no one had arrived and there was no update. When I followed up, I was told a taxi was coming. At 4:45 AM, two men finally picked us up without any explanation of who they were or where we were going. They eventually dropped us at a bus where we joined the group and Brian. From that point on, the tour itself was fine.

However, once again, there was no clear communication about pickup, drivers, or expectations. The process was confusing and poorly coordinated.

I have traveled to many countries and consider myself an experienced traveler, and I have never experienced anything like this. The lack of communication, constant changes, and failure to provide basic logistical clarity made this a very stressful and uncomfortable experience.

I would not recommend this company.

The person who organized our transfer introduced himself as Yuri (or possibly Juri in Spanish). Unfortunately, our experience with him was extremely negative and unprofessional.
He offered us a transfer from Hidroeléctrica to Ollantaytambo for 50 soles. After we agreed and paid, he refused to give us any ticket (saying didn’t have enough paper tickets which wasn’t true at all becose before he even showed quickly to us) or proof of the purchase, and he also refused to tell us the name of the agency he was working for.
Because of this, we asked another passenger on the same transport who had a ticket if we could take a photo of it, just to see the name of the company. That is the reason why I have the photo.
We were told that the departure would be around 1:30–1:40 PM at the latest, but in reality we had to wait from 12:00 PM until about 2:30 PM.
When I became tired of waiting and asked for a refund so that we could find another solution, he treated me very badly and refused to return our money.
After we paid, he took our backpacks and locked them inside his personal car (visible in the photos). He then locked the car and disappeared for almost two hours, leaving us unable to access our belongings during that entire time.
When finally we were going t leave, he did not even depart with his car. Instead, we were placed in a completely different minibus that was waiting for a train to come! That’s why we left so late, even if I asked specifically if we were leaving not later than 1.30, and Mr Juri (or Yuri) liar, promise me max 1.40.
Looking online, I found an other feedback from Reddit, from someone that has our same experience!
Overall, this was a very stressful and unprofessional experience. We had no ticket, no agency name, no clear information, and our belongings were locked in his car for hours without our consent.
I strongly recommend that other travelers be careful with this person. He is a scammer, liar, rude. Shame on him, ruining the reputation of lovely peruvian people.

We had a prepaid bus ticket from Ollantaytambo to Cusco, but the bus did not come to the Estacion, so we had to find a taxi in order to catch our airplain.
They were not answered the phone call and dif not try to contact us.
